The 5 Hole: Shark Bitten In Final Minute … Again

The Islanders three game west coast trip ended Friday afternoon with a stinging 3-2 Black Friday matinee loss against the Western Conference Champion San Jose Sharks.

Nick Leddy’s 4th goal of the season with only 58 seconds left tied the game at 2-2, but just 35 seconds seconds later, Patrick Marleau’s perfect deflection off a Brett Burns pass slipped by Thomas Greiss to give San Jose their second 3-2 one goal victory against the Isles this season.

Anders Lee scored for the second straight game for New York and Thomas Greiss made 25 saves.

The Islanders return home Monday Night to host the Calgary Flames at Barclays Center.
