The 5 Hole: Big Victory on Broad Street

Who would have thought just a few weeks ago the Islanders would be playing their biggest game of the season tonight? Not many would have raised their hand, but yet here they were. Sitting three points out of the final wild card spot in the East, the Isles were in Philly for a big time showdown with the struggling Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers before the night began sat three points ahead of New York, and this game had all the makings of a five-point swing.

In another MUST WIN situation, the Isles came up huge with a 3-1 win. John Tavares was outstanding tonight while Thomas Greiss was lights out. With the win, the Isles move to 7-1-2 under Doug Weight, and have a two-game winning streak. The social media recap can be found here:
